Healthcare And Opioids

Healthcare And Opioids

Jon has seen firsthand, from both sides of the bed, the issues that have plagued the healthcare system in the United States. One of the fundamental parts of being a medical doctor is the Hippocratic Oath, and he’s a firm believer in building a stronger system that provides affordable and world class care for every patient that comes through the hospital.

Unfortunately for many in Ohio, the issue that has had the broadest impact has been the damage of opioids in our communities. On an almost daily basis, Jon and Adam have seen the devastating effects that these drugs have had on their friends and families – whether it be a pregnant mother struggling to get clean, or young teen trapped in the cycle of addiction showing up to the hospital twice in the same day. Simply put, our leaders our not doing enough to fight for us.

To address this issue, it is imperative that the frontline providers working to heal Ohioans are brought to the forefront of the conversation. This means working with community representatives, law enforcement officials, and medical experts specifically trained to deal with this – not just the suits and administrators who have largely removed themselves from the problem.
